Brendan Gaughan has eleven years of Truck Series racing to his credit, along with a NASCAR career spanning 13 seasons. The Georgetown University graduate has amassed 16 NASCAR career wins, 10 pole awards and two series championships since making his NASCAR debut in 1997.
Gaughan, who was born in Los Angeles and raised in Las Vegas, entered the NASCAR ranks with interests in both the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West. He scored two top-five finishes in his first five K&N Pro Series West races, and went on to earn two West championships and eight victories. In Trucks, Gaughan captured the Rookie of the Year title in 2002 driving the No. 62 truck. He earned two wins in 2002 and six in 2003 for a total of eight Truck Series victories. He’s been away from truck racing for two complete seasons, but his love for it has never faded. Fans, drivers, team owners and TV announcers commonly refer to the Truck Series as the “best racing.” Gaughan, who has competed in NASCAR, Grand Am, CORR, SODA and SNORE, agrees.
Returning to the Truck Series with championship team Germain Racing could make for a very exciting season for the No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino Tundra driver. Both Germain and Gaughan excel at intermediate-sized race tracks. The pairing is responsible for 11 victories at Texas Motor Speedway including Gaughan’s two-year unbeaten streak (2002-2003) when he earned four consecutive wins at the Fort Worth track.
